Account & Profile
Everything you need to know about account types, permissions, and profile management.
What account types are available?
Vwaza Studio supports Fan (discover and purchase), Creator (upload and distribute), Publisher (rights and royalties), Label (sign and promote artists), Creative Collective (collaborative communities), and Artist Management (career guidance). Your account type represents your primary identity.
Can I change my account type?
Yes, you can change your account type to better reflect your role. Contact support to request a change. This won't affect your existing group memberships or permissions within those groups.
How do account types relate to group permissions?
Your account type represents your primary identity, while group permissions are separate and role-based. For example, a Creator can be an Admin in one group and a regular Member in another, regardless of their account type.
Can I be part of multiple groups?
Yes. You can join multiple groups with different roles in each. A Creator might be signed to a Label, work with a Publisher for rights management, and collaborate with a Creative Collective - all simultaneously.
What's the difference between account type and group role?
Account type describes what you do in the industry (Creator, Label, Publisher). Group roles describe your responsibilities within a specific group (Owner, Admin, Member). These are independent.
How do permissions work in groups?
Group permissions are role-based. Each group has roles like Owner, Admin, and Member with specific permissions. The group type (Label, Collective, etc.) determines available permissions, and your role within that group determines which you have.
What if I'm both a Creator and run a Label?
Choose the account type that best represents your primary activity. If you're mainly an artist who also runs a label, choose Creator and create a Label group for your business. If the label is your main focus, choose Label.
Can Fans access Vwaza Studio?
Fans have limited Studio access - they can view public content, support creators, and manage purchases. They cannot upload content or use creator tools. Fans wanting to create should upgrade to a Creator account.
How do I manage my profile for different roles?
Your main profile reflects your account type, but you can customize how you appear within each group. Your bio, title, and role can differ in each group context while maintaining your core identity.
What happens to my groups if I change my account type?
All existing group memberships and permissions remain unchanged. Account type changes only affect your profile categorization, not your access or relationships within groups.
